An introduction-to-working-life period is part
of the Finnish comprehensive school curriculum.
The aim is that the pupil must be able to gain
personal experience with working life and vocations
in genuine work
enviroments and school is not that most of the
times. An introduction-to-working-life period
is central part of cooperation between the local
labour market and business community and comprehensive
school.
The period offers basic information about working
life and different vocational fields for students.
The central aim of the project is to create a
web-based connection between working life and
comprehensive schools providing information about
places for an introduction-to-working-life period.
"TET-tori" enviroment goad is
to serve students, parents, study counsellors
and companies by offering information about initial
vocational study programmes in upper secondary
education.
The first research task is to find out practices
that would make it possible to integrate the use
of information tecnology as a natural aspect of
study counselling. The second research task is
to find out whether the
introduction-to-working-life period experiences
have any effect when students plan their further
education. The third research task, which builds
upon the first two is to creat and maintain a
web-base enviroment the TET-tori.
