MINDTREK Awards
MINDTREK-Awards is trying to identify the best
Finnish interactive media products, ideas or concepts
which experiment with new means of expression
and demonstrate innovative use of technology.
Since 1997 annually 100 – 120 projects
across the digital media spectrum have participated,
representing web-pages, mobile applications and
DVD-releases in the fields of entertainment, education
and services.
MINDTREK is not only about recognizing the best
products. All nominated projects and finalists
are presented during events of the MINDTREK Festival
and the winners are celebrated at its highlight,
the MINDTREK Awards Gala. MINDTREK is about developing
the interactive media business. It offers a forum
for experienced professionals and new talents
and all players of digital media to analyze excellence
network and join forces for future projects.
MINDTREK is arranged by the MindTrek Association
in cooperation with partners from the industry,
universities and civic and public organizations.
The City of Tampere is funding the MINDTREK Grand
Prix, 20002 €.
The kick off of MINDTREK Awards 2006 will be
in August, but the MINDTREK Student Competition
will be launched here and now at the ITK-Conference.
Top Talent Award
The EUROPRIX Top Talent Award is Europe’s
contest for students and young professionals who
work on innovative projects in the field of e-contents
and design - using whatever multimedia channel
or platform. Projects can be submitted in 8 categories.
And there’s even more: Content Fusion Award,
Thesis Award and the new ATI Special Award.
The Top Talent Festival showcases and promotes
top students and young professionals and honours
them for their outstanding achievements. Over
three days, this event frames the platform for
networking, exchange of ideas, experiences and
business contacts between the multimedia newcomers,
instructors, the European IT-industry and IT-media
editors and journalists.
The TTA winning projects are the best of young
multimedia contents and design in Europe. The
projects and products are the top selection from
all entries to the Top Talent Award. They show
that the new developments are not isolated, but
that from the Baltic to the Mediterranean, from
small towns to the European metro centres, young
media designers have taken charge of the technologies
to create new applications and contents that work
in the real world.
